Being a part of ACM-W BPDC has been one of the most valuable experiences of my university journey. I joined in my second year as a Creative Executive to gain exposure, build my network, and make university life more meaningful. Since I have always enjoyed taking on responsibilities, ACM-W gave me the perfect environment to learn and grow. The supportive seniors taught me a lot, and over time I became more organized, learned how to work effectively in a team, handle last-minute challenges, and take ownership of my responsibilities. ACM-W also gave me opportunities to interact with industry experts and gain exposure beyond the classroom. Eventually serving as the Chair of ACM-W for the academic year 2025-26 was a rewarding experience. It allowed me to grow as a leader while also understanding the importance of teamwork, communication, and organizing events successfully. Looking back, being part of ACM-W BPDC has contributed greatly to both my personal and professional development. I would highly recommend getting involved in associations like ACM-W, as they offer a great platform for both personal and professional growth.

My journey with ACM-W began in my freshman year. While I initially didn’t make the most of my membership, it opened my eyes to the incredible work the team was doing to promote women in tech. This inspired me to join the executive council in 2022, a decision that transformed my university experience. From there, my journey only got better as I became Vice Chair and then Chair. Being a part of this organization has truly made my university years the best. I’ve gained hands-on experience with new tech stacks, expanded my professional network, and, most importantly, forged a countless friendships and cherished memories. ACM-W is more than just a club, it’s a community that is geeky, nerdy, and fun. If you’re looking to find your place and grow, you should definitely be a part of it.

ACM-W gave me the opportunity to grow as a leader and collaborator. From starting out as an Events Executive to serving as Co-Chair in my final year, the journey was a rollercoaster of challenges, learning, and growth. By driving impactful initiatives, technical events, and inspiring speaker sessions, the experience was both rewarding and unforgettable. What made it even more special was the ACM-W community itself—an amazing group of council members whose energy and support made me want to contribute even more. Most of all, it strengthened my passion for empowering women in computing and made my undergraduate years at BITS Pilani, Dubai truly special.

Since my freshman year, I’ve been actively involved with ACM-W BPDC, where I’ve had the chance to learn a wide range of technical skills and improve how I work with others. In my third year, I applied for a council position because I was so passionate about what the organization stands for. When I was selected as Vice Chair, I was thrilled. Then, in my final year, I was promoted to Chair, leading a team of 12 dedicated council members. Together, we organized tech events for BITS students that made a real impact. Being part of ACM-W BPDC has been incredibly valuable for my professional development — I highly recommend that everyone get involved in associations like this.

Being a part of ACM-W, both as a member and as the creative head of the council, has proven to be invaluable to me. I learnt a great deal about not only CS but also about my own personal interests and abilities. ACM-W is a welcoming and enriching environment for women in CS to flourish.
